Fireworks and a Possible Suicidal Person In Chillicothe Police Report

The new year started with the shooting of fire works and included a car deer accident and several other calls for the Chillicothe Police Department.

At about 12:05 am, Officers received a call about possible gun shots in the 10 block of Elm St.  Officers located people shooting off Fireworks in the 100 block of Brunswick St.  They were advised to stop shooting fireworks.

At approximately 12:35 am, Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle in the 2800 block of Hornet Rd.  The person was contacted and nothing illegal was discovered.

At 3:35 am, Officers were called to the 1000 block of Polk St.  Officers offered assistance but were refused.

At 7:15 am, Officers returned to the 1000 block of Polk St.  The person was transported to the hospital for mental evaluation.  They were released from the hospital.

At approximately 10:43 am, Officers were dispatched to a possible suicidal person in the street in the 1000 block of Polk St.  they found the person was not suicidal but angry because they couldn’t get in their home.

A short time later, the officers returned to the 1000 block of Polk St on a call from a mental health crisis hotline in reference to a suicidal.  They received a civil detention warrant and the person was transported to a mental health facility for treatment.

At 1:30 pm, Officers were dispatched to loud music in the 200 block of Samuel St.

At 5:50 pm, Officers were dispatched to a car deer crash in the 2800 block of N. Washington St.  A vehicle driven by Charles J. Ruppel was run into by a deer resulting in minor damage.
