Two Chillicothe Food Pantries are merging into one. Life Center Food Pantry had operated on Elm Street in Chillicothe for several years through Cornerstone Church and the Ministerial Alliance.
On Friday they announced they will merge with the Livingston County Food Pantry. They will continue to operate at 403 Locust Street.
The merger will mean an increase in the number of days the pantry will be open to the public.
Mary Ann Slattery, board secretary for the Livingston County Food Pantry says the new Pantry will be open every Monday and every Friday.
It will also be open the Thursday and Friday after the Second Wednesday of each month. That date will be for the distribution of USDA foods, formerly known as “Commodities”.
