A winter weather advisory is issued for most of the KCHI listening area, with a Winter Storm Warning for Linn and Chariton County. The storm system moving in from the southwest is being fed with moisture out of the gulf and that will bring us upwards of 6 inches of snow before the system moves out late Saturday.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Scott Blair says for the Chillicothe area, this will begin with rain this morning.
Blair says this will be the heavy wet type of snow.
Cooler weather will continue through Sunday, but temperatures will warm in the early part of the week, so we could see significant snow melt next week.
