Rollover Accident Injures Six – Driver Arrested

A single vehicle roll over accident east of Chillicothe Tuesday evening left six people injured and the driver in custody.  The accident happened at about 8:30 pm on LIV 230, three miles east of Chillicothe as 36 year old Matthew Pike of Chillicothe was westbound and lost control on the ice covered road.  He ran off the north side of the road and hit a culvert, causing his vehicle to overturn, coming to rest in a creek bed on its side.  The Missouri Highway Patrol reports six passengers were injured.  30 year old Litica Citron and 19 year old Michelle Scott, both of Chillicothe and 32 year old Scarlett Tripp of Chula had moderate injuries and were taken to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment.  25 year old Joey Cahill, 49 year old Troy Cunningham and 26 year old James Gillespie, all of Chillicothe, had minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

The driver, Matthew Pike was not injured.  He was arrested by State Troopers for alleged DWI persistent offender, driving while revoked, careless and imprudent driving and no insurance.  He was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.
