Chillicothe In Budget Preparation Mode

Chillicothe’s fiscal year comes to a close on March 31st, and the City will need to create and approve a budget for the coming year before the March 31st deadline.  City Administrator Darin Chappell says this is the time they find out what the departments want and need.

Chappell says his responsibility is to somehow figure out how much revenue there will be to cover the expenditures.

Chappell says they have a couple of big ticket items for the coming year.

The Fire Department will complete the purchase of a new ladder/pumper truck and the equipment for about $930,000.  The truck should be ready by late Summer.

The street department has a few streets to work on, and Chappell estimates $350,000 for that work.
