The Quilt Exhibit at Cultural Corner Art Guild and Gallery will close January 31st. Mindy Stedam, director, says the exhibit includes large variety of beautifully handmade quilts created by artist from our surrounding area. There are over 100 quilts on display from approximately 50 different artists.
She says the work in the quilt exhibition exemplifies artist traditions that are passed down through generations. Some of the iconic quilt designs and techniques provide insights into different interpretive methods used in quilting. Patterns on display include: Dresden plate, crazy, log cabin, fan, double wedding ring, pinwheel and more, with quilts dating back as far as the late 1800’s.
The closing reception for Quilts will be held at the Cultural Corner Art Guild & Gallery Thursday, January 31 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
