Patek Says ZERO Tolerance – Keep Your Dog Safe

If you have a dog that stays outside, make sure you do everything you can to keep that dog warm as we will have some of the coldest days of the year this week.  Leslie Patek from the Forest O Triplet Animal Shelter says if at all possible, bring your dogs inside, even if it is just into the basement.  She says it that is not possible, there are a few things you can do to help your dog, starting with making sure the entrance to the dog house facing south.

She says make sure you feed your dog a couple times a day as they will be using a lot of energy to try and stay warm.  Patek even suggest adding a little meat to the food.

If you have an inside pet that needs to go out to “take care of business,” she says to keep the time outside as short as possible.
