This is election Day for The City of Chillicothe, the Chillicothe R-II School District and for many other communities and school districts in Livingston and the surrounding counties.
In Chillicothe, the voters will make their choices in the contested races that include: Mayor and the 1st and 3rd Ward Council Seats.
For Mayor, the candidates are Reed Dupy and Teresa Gatson Kelly
For 1st Ward:Â Dennis Albertson Jr faces Adam Brown
And for 3rd Ward: A three-way race between John Plaster, Jr, Buell Applebury and Michael Smith.
For the Chillicothe R-II School Board, there are two seats that have a three-year term and four candidates. They are: Bill Hayen, Clint B Williams, Carrie Pfeifer and Ricky A Baker. Voters will select two from that list.
There is also a seat with one year remaining on the term. Those candidates are Brice Walker and Gene Moyers.
School District residents will also decide on an 80 cent levy for School District Operations.
Polls opened at 6:00 this morning and remain open until 7:00 pm. KCHI will follow the races this evening and when the Livingston County results are fully tabulated, we will have those results on the air and on the KCHI Web Page and Facebook.
