Swarm Drop Football Season Opener

The Chillicothe Swarm Semi-Professional football team dropped their season opening game at home on Saturday. The Swarm fell to the Quad City Nighthawks 18-14 at Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium.
Quad City scored first with 8 minutes left in the first quarter on a 5 yard touchdown pass. The conversion was no good. The 6-0 score would hold up the rest of the first half.
Chillicothe scored with 4:30 left in the third quarter on a Derek Flanagan 35 yard interception return. The conversion run was good for an 8-6 Chillicothe lead.
The lead didn’t last long when Quad City returned the kick off 75 yards to the end zone and a 12-8 lead
Early in the 4th Quarter Quad City scored again on the ground for an 18-8 lead.
Chillicothe finished the scoring with 7:34 left in the fourth quarter on a Dillon Triplett 5 yard run. The conversion was good for the final 18-14 Quad City win.
Chillicothe had a chance late in the game but couldn’t get into the end zone on their final drive.
