A flood warning is issued for the Grand River at Chillicothe, Sumner, and Brunswick.
The National Weather Service in Kansas City says the Grand River at Chillicothe is expected to rise above flood stage Thursday night. Flood Stage at Chillicothe is 24 feet, the river will rise to flood stage Thursday evening and is expected to crest at 24.2 feet overnight, before falling back below flood stage on Friday.
At Sumner, the river is expected to rise above flood stage of 26 feet Wednesday evening, with a crest of 30.6 feet by Friday morning and flooding will continue until Saturday morning.
At Brunswick, flood stage is 19 feet and the river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.9 feet Saturday morning.
The flood warnings are due to the heavy rain that is expected across the region over the next couple of days.
