Highway Patrol Reports Of Accidents and Arrests For Labor Day

Two people were injured in separate accidents Monday in the local counties.

At about 4:10 pm in Linn County, a three-vehicle accident left a Brookfield man with minor injuries.  State Troopers report 44-year-old Michael St. Lawrence of Brookfield was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital for treatment.  The report states a vehicle was attempting to cross US 36, east of Brookfield and was struck by the St. Lawrence vehicle.  The driver from Kansas City also struck a vehicle that was stopped at the intersection.  The other two drivers were not injured.

At about 9:15 pm in Grundy County, a two-vehicle accident left a Laredo woman with moderate injuries.  Troopers report 18-year-old Ashley Casper of Laredo was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton following the accident on Highway 6, a mile west of Trenton.  According to the report, Casper was westbound and ran into another westbound vehicle that had slowed to make a left turn.  The other driver was not injured.

 

Troopers Also arrested two arrests, both in Linn County

At about 8:40 am, Troopers arrested 28-year-old Zachary Jansma of Greeley, Colorado for alleged possession of marijuana.  He was processed and released.

At about 11:00 am, Troopers arrested 21-year-old Michael St. Lawrence of Leavenworth Kansas on a Brookfield warrant for alleged failure to appear for parking violations.  He was held at the Brookfield Police Department pending the posting of bond.
