Outdoor Skills Day Offered For Area Youth

The Missouri Department of Conservation and the National Wild Turkey Federation have partnered to offer a free outdoor skills program for youth, ages 6-15 years old.  The program will be held at the Union Ridge Conservation Area, northeast of Green City, on Saturday, September 28th.  The hours for the program are from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.  Participants are asked to meet at the Union Ridge Conservation Area, Parking Lot E, on Lilac Road.

Those taking part will have opportunities to learn and practice shotgun shooting, fishing, and archery.  There will be safety instruction, and a turkey calling demonstration. Participants may bring their own shotgun for trap shooting, but firearms, ammunition, fishing gear, bait, and all other equipment will all be provided. Lunch will also be provided at no cost.

Preregistration is required by September 27th and is done online by clicking HERE.   For more information about this event, contact Agent Ernst at (573) 673-7588.
