Several KCHI area softball teams competed in the first round of the MSHSAA Softball Post Season Tournament.
In Class 3, the team that ended Chillicothe season in the district finals, Kirksville lost to another MEC team when Savannah beat the Lady Tigers 6-4 to improve to 18-2. Savannah will play Nevada on Saturday.
In Class 2: The Lafayette County Higginsville Lady Huskers upset Penney of Hamilton 9 to 6. Lafayette County will face Marceline on Saturday. The Lady Tigers beat East Buchanan 16-3, thanks to scoring 11 runs in one inning.
In Class 1: Norborne beat Brunswick/Keytesville 2-0 and will put their 18-2 record up against Canton which is 21-1.
