Two Fire Reports From Chillicothe Fire Department

Chillicothe firefighters responded to two fire calls Friday.

At about 11:48 am, The fire department received a call for smoke in the maintenance room of a hotel in the 200 block of Business 36.  The fire crew arrived in three minutes to find smoke coming from the maintenance room and they identified an electrical smell to the smoke.  Thermal imaging cameras were used to locate the source.  They found the burned wires on a water heater.  An electrician was called to make the needed repairs.  The fire crew was on scene for about 35 minutes.

At about 10:10 pm, the fire call was to 716 Clay Street.  The fire crew arrived in two minutes.  The alarm panel showed the problem was in apartment 505.  The report states the resident was smoking in the apartment and had disconnected the smoke detector.  No fire was found.  The fire crew was on the scene for 6 minutes.
