National FFA Proficiency Awards

Two Chillicothe FFA members competed for honors in the National FFA Convention.

Garrett Cramer and Colten Peel competed with their Agriculture Proficiency.  The Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through their supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs), have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers.

Colten competed in the Diversified Horticulture Proficiency award area.  This proficiency area consists of members who own or works for an enterprise or business that applies the best management practices available to efficiently produce and market plants from two or more of the following proficiency areas.  Projects include the production of floriculture plants and, the design and/or sale of floral products (corsages, boutonnieres, bouquets).  Colten received a bronze rating in his category at the national level.

Garrett competed in the Diversified Agricultural Production Proficiency award area.  This proficiency area consists of the members’ use of the best management practices available to produce and market a combination of livestock and crops in two or more proficiency areas.  Garrett received a silver rating in his category at the national level.
