Chillicothe Police Report Busy Thursday

The Chillicothe Police Department handled 100 calls for service Thursday, which included several investigations.

11:10 am, Officers responded to the 1200 block of Washington Street, for a collision. A southbound pickup made an improper lane change causing a southbound van to avoid a collision with the pickup and then hitting a curb. No injuries were reported.

11:15 am, Officer performed traffic control in the area of Bryan and Walnut Street for a downed power line.

12:27 pm, Officers checked a report of a violation of a protection order in the 1500 block of Walnut Street.  Was not protection order was not in effect at the time.

2:36 pm, An officer was at Chillicothe High School for an investigation.

5:03 pm, Officers responded to the 600 block of Peacher Street for a report of a vehicle backing into a parked car. No injuries were reported.

8:23 pm, A traffic stop in the 1000 block of S. Washington Street for defective lighting resulted in an arrest.  The officer knew that the driver did not have a valid drivers license.  The person refused to exit the vehicle and the officers forcibly removed the person after having to break the window of the driver’s door and took the person into custody.  Livingston County’s deputy and K-9 assisted at the scene and narcotics, paraphernalia and a firearm that was reported as stolen in Carroll County were recovered in the vehicle.  The driver was held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail pending charges for drug possession, weapon possession, the driving charge and resisting arrest.    A woman who was related to the driver arrived at the scene at the time of arrest and created a loud and profane disturbance resulting in her arrest for Disorderly Conduct.
