One Arrested after Chillicothe Chase

A Carrollton resident was arrested by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office on several charges.
A Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputy on Sunday evening saw a vehicle in Chillicothe with out working brake lights and stopped the vehicle to notify the driver of the danger.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect suddenly took off accelerating to a high rate of speed, allegedly running seven stop signs and going the wrong way on Calhoun Street in Chillicothe, going 70 miles per hour in a 25 zone.
The deputy found the wrecked vehicle.
The Deputy and Chillicothe Police took the allegedly combative suspect under arrest. He was found to have two knives that were opened, in his waistband.
The suspect was unwilling to give his name but his photo was shared with Carrollton Police which identified the suspect as 21  year old Jeffery Lee Smith III of Carrollton.
He had an outstanding Parole Violation warrant and was later transferred to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail. He was on parole for two felony crimes in Carroll County, The investigation continues on other alleged possible crimes.
