The Bridges Of Livingston County – Road Construction Ahead

Re-decking of two bridges near Chillicothe begins next week.  MoDOT Resident Engineer James Gillespie says the projects to re-deck the US 65 bridge over the Grand River, south of Chillicothe, and the 190 bridge over the Thompson River, west of Chillicothe, will begin with relocating a road or driveway that is very near the end of the bridges.

Gillespie says on US 65, the contractor will relocate the road at the north end of the bridge.

He says that will take about a month to complete.

On Highway 190, the contractor will relocate a driveway on the west end of the bridge.

That project will take about a week or so.  Both will be very dependent on the weather.

Gillespie says once the respective access roads are complete, the crews will start on the bridges.  He says work on those will be very similar.

He says if you need to travel across the bridges while the work is taking place, you should allow extra time to reach your destination.  He says during peak traffic times. Morning and evening, you could find traffic backed up.
