National Telecommunications Week – Emergency Dispatchers

This is National Telecommunications Week, an opportunity to recognize and thank the Communications Officers or dispatchers that are the first contacts for the public in an emergency.  Chillicothe Police Chief Jon Maples says – Our team dispatches for the Chillicothe Police Department, Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, Livingston County Emergency Management, Chillicothe Fire Department, and all Rural Fire Departments in Livingston County. In every emergency, they are the calm voice on the other end of the telephone to let you know that you are not alone and that help is on the way.

While they are talking to you, they have sent the appropriate services to you, they are listening to you and when necessary, they are helping YOU walk through the situation.

In 2019, the Chillicothe E911 Center received more than 57,000 calls for Law, Fire, and Emergency Services.

These are the people that are the voice you hear when you call for help!
