Arrested After Caught Rummaging Through A Truck

A man caught rummaging through the back of a pick-up was arrested Wednesday morning.  The call came in at about 4:15 am and officers responded to the 600 block of Missouri Avenue.  The call was for a suspicious vehicle in front of a house with someone out with a flashlight.  Officers contacted the man who was rummaging through the back of a pickup truck parked on Bridge Street.  He stated it was his truck and he lived at the home, then changed his statement to “the truck belonged to a friend.”

As the investigation continued, the officers verified the vehicle did not belong to the person or his friend.  The man also refused to identify himself and then became verbally hostile when the officers attempted to handcuff him.

The man was identified as 25-year-old Marcus Ray Brown of Cameron. Officers found he is under the supervision of probation and parole.  He was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail and has since been charged with alleged attempted tampering with a vehicle.
