East Locust Creek Reservoir Permitting Process

The North Central Missouri Water Commission received good news on its efforts to construct the East Locust Creek Reservoir that would supply water to several counties in north central Missouri.  Commission General Manager Brad Scott says they received notice Hearings will be held on their supplemental Environmental Impact Statement.

Scott says they also received approval on a Bat Mitigation Plan for the site.

He says the Biological Statement will allow them to begin timber harvest as early as this fall and winter and they hope to begin the construction process in 2021.

Scott says the project had its official start in 2006, but the East Locust Creek Reservoir has been discussed for many years prior to that time.
