Final Hearing For Livingston Co. Budget Is Friday

The final hearing for the Livingston county Budget is Friday at 10:00 am in the Commission Room of the Courthouse.

On January 19th, the Budget Officer, Sherry Parks, held the first public hearing for the budget that includes a carryover from 2020 of $3.5 million, revenues of $8.4 million, and expenditures of $9.49 million.

Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas says this is a conservative budget that will allow them to continue to build their reserves.

Douglas says the county will add more than $250,000 to their Sales Tax Reserve, bringing that balance to $1.4 million.  They also expect to carry forward another million.

The Livingston County 2021 Budget Document has been available for review by the public in the County Clerk’s office since the first hearing.

The final budget hearing is Friday, January 29th at 10:00 am.  During that time there may also be minor adjustments made to the budget before approval.
