Troopers Report Two Fatal Accidents For The Local Counties

A single-vehicle accident in Saline County Thursday morning took the life of the driver and left two passengers injured.  State Troopers report 20-year-old Nathan L Pitts-Burkhart of Carrollton died in the crash that happened when he was southbound on US 65 at Route BB at a high rate of speed and skidded in a corner.  The vehicle ran off the right side of the road and overturned.  The driver and front-seat passenger were partially ejected.

The passengers, 19-year-old Jonathan L Burce of Carrollton and 27-year-old Christopher Bigby of Sedalia were taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshal.  Bruce had minor injuries and Bigby had moderate injuries.  None of the three were wearing safety belts.


An accident on Interstate 35 at about 12:40 am today (Friday), 10 miles south of Pattonsburg took the life of a man that was walking along the freeway.  State Troopers report 46-year-old Matthew Martin of Idaho died at the scene after he was struck by a car driven by 26-year-old Christopher Ellis of Iowa as he was northbound.
