Trenton Middle School Student In National Spelling Bee

A Trenton Middle School Student will participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.  More than 200 spellers from across the nation, including eight Missouri kids, are competing virtually in the first of three rounds.  Titus Kottwitz, a seventh-grader at Trenton Middle School earned his spot when he spelled the word “volition” correctly.  Kottwitz talked about his spelling strategy.

The quarterfinals are June 15th, the semifinals are June 27th,  and the in-person finals will be July 8th at Walt Disney World.

Other Missouri spellers competing are from Columbia, Rolla, Poplar Bluff, Peculiar, Park Hill, Independence, and St. Louis.
