Chillicothe Man Seriously Injured in Crash

Details have been released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol of an injury accident Friday Morning in Chillicothe.
According to the Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred at 8:00 am Friday on Route V just west of East Street.
A car driven by 44-year-old James D. Martin of Cameron slowed to make a left turn into a private drive. A Motorcycle driven by 67-year-old William Anderson of Chillicothe changed lanes, began skidding, and overturned, ejecting Anderson. As Martin was navigating a left turn, his car struck the motorcycle and the driver, Anderson.
The car came to rest in the private drive with Anderson trapped under the vehicle.
Anderson was taken by Life Flight to Truman Medical Center with serious injuries. Martin was arrested by the Highway Patrol for alleged driving while intoxicated, involving serious physical injury. He was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail on a 24-hour hold. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and Chillicothe Police Department assisted the Highway Patrol.
