Fall Soil Testing Aids In Producers Decision Making

Producers looking to make amendments to the soil in their fields may want to consider collecting soil samples in the fall.  Valarie Tate, Agronomy Specialist with the University of Missouri Extension Office says soil testing this time of year can help producers make important decisions.  Tate says testing gives you a baseline to work from.

Tate says Soil testing is also a good tool for fields with Soy Bean Cyst Nematode.

She says Soil Health Assessments can provide a variety of important pieces of information.

Soil sampling depth and technique will depend on the testing taking place.  For more information, contact your local Extension Office.  In Chillicothe, call 646-0811.
