Three Accidents And Two Arrests In The Area Over The Weekend

State Troopers investigated three injury accidents in the area counties and report two arrests for the area over the weekend.

Sunday at about 5:15 pm on Highway 6 near Jamesport, a single-vehicle accident left a 14-year-old with minor injuries.  State Troopers report 57-year-old Gary Carman of Hamilton was eastbound and swerved to miss a deer.  He ran off the south side of the road and the vehicle overturned.  Carman was not injured, but the 14-year-old passenger from Laredo was taken to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton for treatment.

Sunday at about 5:30 pm on I-35 near Pattonsburg, a pick-up driven northbound by 43-year-old Laura Beerbower of Mount Ayr, IA ran into the back of a car driven by 31-year-old Tiffany Mallek of Ankeny, IA.  Mallek’s vehicle ran off the road and struck the ditch.  She was taken to Liberty Hospital with moderate injuries.

Sunday at about 7:50 pm near Stewartsville, an accident left one driver with minor injuries and the other driver in custody.  42-year-old Ruth I Teague of Polo was southbound on Route K and crossed the centerline, striking the northbound vehicle driven by 41-year-old Sarah B Hanson head-on.  Hanson was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.  Teague was not injured, but was arrested for alleged DWI with drugs, resulting in injury, failing to drive on the right half of the road, no insurance, and possession of marijuana.  She was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

Troopers in Daviess County also report the arrest of 23-year-old Tyler S McReynolds of Kansas City on a Neosho warrant for no plates and failure to register a vehicle.  He was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.
