The Chillicothe Board of Public Works approved the Farm Ground lease for property south of town. The 153-acre parcel is located on the east side of the highway at the irrigation pivot. CMU received sealed bids for the lease of the property. The winning bid from Pat Kimmis is for $292 an acre for three years.
CMU General Manage Matt Hopper says their crews have been working on the Meter Replacement project, but that has come to a halt as they wait for additional meters. The progress so far includes about ¾ of the water meters replaced and only 92 of 4,600 electric meters have been replaced. Hopper says the hold-up is on the microchips that are in the meters. They hope to have meters delivered by Mid 2022.
