A 27-year-old woman has been arrested after a baby in her care was flown to Children’s Mercy Hospital with serious injuries. The Chillicothe Police Department responded to the report of the injured child at about 9 pm Monday.
The report states the minor child was in the custody of a babysitter at the time of the injury. Early Wednesday morning, as a result of the investigation, officers arrested a 27-year-old woman for alleged child abuse resulting in serious injury, armed criminal action, and assault in the first degree.
Wednesday morning, 27-year-old Jessica Nicole Gamble of Chillicothe was arraigned in Livingston County Associate Court on the charge of alleged Abuse Or Neglect Of A Child – Serious Emotional Or Physical Injury – No Sexual Contact. She is held at the Daviess/DeKalb Regional Jail with no bond allowed. Her next court appearance will be on January 19th for a bond hearing.
