CMU & Board Of Public Works Are Working On The Budget

A preliminary review of the Chillicothe Municipal Utilities Budget was held by the Board of Public Works.  CMU General Manager Matt Hopper says A rate increase is being considered in the water department.

Hopper says there are no plans for electric rate changes.  He says the Electric rates have not increased since 2014.

He says there are no big purchases in the budget, but he says they will be working on completing some work they have already started.

He says the supplier is affected by the worldwide chip shortage that is causing problems with everything from electronics to automotive.

They will replace one of the refuse trucks

In the 2021 budget, CMU purchased a Digger Derick for the Electric Department.  That truck is expected to be delivered in June of 2023
