Hornets Wins District Opener

The Chillicothe Hornets Boys Basketball Team passed their first District test Saturday with a 57 to 45 home win over Savannah. The Savages took a one-point lead at the end of the First Quarter, but it was all Hornets after that in a close game.
Coach Tim Cool said the Hornets “out toughed” Savannah.

The Hornets only led by single digits most of the game but ended the fourth quarter on a four-point run.
Griff Bonderer turned in another great game with 27 points including hitting 14 of 16 free throws. Chillicothe had two players with double-doubles: James Mathew had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Wyatt Brandsgaard had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Landon Winder had five points and Jackson Trout, Alijah Hibner and Chace Corbin all saw playing time.
