Council Hears Service Reports And Funding Requests

Service reports were presented to the Chillicothe City Council Monday, by three organizations that serve the community.  The requests will be considered as the Council works to complete the 2022 budget.

The Livingston county Extension report was made by Jessica Trussell.  She talked about the various programs the extension program offers.  This includes health and wellness programs for adults, nutrition programs, and the 4H programs in and around the community.  The Extension Program requested support from the city of $5,000.

The Chamber of Commerce information was presented by the new Chamber Board President, Monica Wolf, and questions were answered by Chamber Executive Director Crystal Narr.  They requested support of $5,500, a $200 increase from the current funding.

Theresa Sykes from the Grand River Multi-Purpose Center talked about the program that includes services, activities, and meals.  She told the council, in 2021 the program had a $50,000 deficit.  Their request for funding was $30,000.
