Weekend Report For The Chillicothe Police Department

The Chillicothe Police Department responded to 178 calls for service over the weekend.  Some of the calls include:

Sunday:

5:06 PM, Officers along with Chillicothe Fire Department responded to the 1300 block of Burnam for a fire in the basement of a residence.  The fire was put out and only minimal damage occurred.

8:46 PM, Officers responded to the 1000 block of S Washington Street for a report of leaving the scene accident causing property damage.  The investigation is ongoing and a suspect has not been identified.

Saturday:

1:03 am, Report of a fight in the 400 block of Locust Street.  One subject was arrested on a Grundy County warrant for failure to appear on a speeding charge.  That person posted bond and was released.

7:47 am, Officer stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of N. Washington Street for a traffic violation.  Investigation revealed that the 23-year-old driver was operating the vehicle while impaired.  Items of contraband were seized.  The subject was processed and released.

10:58 am, Possible drug contraband was located on the sidewalk in the area of Broadway and Eleventh Streets.  The item was collected by Officer for proper disposal.

11:22 am, Officers were in the 1000 block of Cherry Street on a Livingston County warrant service.  A 37-year-old was arrested for Burglary, Theft, and Property Damage.  When confronted, the person attempted to break free from Officers but was unable to avoid arrest.  They now also face charges of resisting arrest.  They were taken to Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail.

11:41 pm, Officers out in the 300 block of Calhoun Street on attempted paper service.  An 18-year-old was arrested on a Livingston County warrant for probation violation and was held at Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail.
