Chillicothe Track and Field Teams Both Take First at Benton Relays

Hornets track and field competed in the 44th annual Benton Relays in St. Joseph and blew the competition away.  The two squads raked in a combined 51 placements on the podium.

The Lady Hornets brought back 12 finishes in the top three of the 18 scored events. That included first place for Kayanna Cranmer in the 400 meter dash (1:01.83) and 800 meter run (2:30.75) , Jolie Bonderer in the 1600 meter run (5:59.31), Sadie Midgyett in discus (30.99 meters) and in the 4 by 800 meter relay (10:52.03).

Additional podium placers include:

2nd in the 3200 meter run for Kadence Shipers – 14:29.54 minutes

2nd in the 4 by 800 meter relay – 4:35.07

2nd in discus for Hope Helton – 29.97 meter

2nd in javelin for Tori Stoner – 33.94 meters

3rd in the 800 meter run for Kealee French – 2:53.62 minutes

3rd in triple jump for Anna Pfaff – 9.59 meters

3rd in javelin for Hope Helton – 33.01 meters

4th in the 1600 meter run for YooJung Lee – 6:46.08 minutes

4th in the 100 meter hurdles for Emmy Dillon – 17.95 seconds

4th in the 4×100 meter relay – 54.20 seconds

4th in high jump for Lillain Dennis – 1.25 meters

4th in long jump for Anna Pfaff – 4.22 meters

5th in the 100 meter dash for Bronlyn Ward – 13.54 seconds

5th in shot put for Trista Tipton – 9.04 meters

6th in the 200 meter dash for Bronlyn Ward – 28.94 seconds

6th in the 300 meter hurdles for Emmy Dillon – 1:00.93

6th in long jump for Belle Englert – 4.18 meters

7th in the 400 meter dash for Anna Pfaff – 1:13.32 minutes

7th in the 300 meter hurdles Kirsten Dunn – 1:00.97

7th in the 4×200 meter relay team – 2:13.82 minutes

7th in triple jump for Belle Englert – 8.84 meters

The Hornets team had top-of-the-podium performances from Clayton Savage in the 3200 meter run and Demarcus Kelow in both shot put and discus.

2nd in the 800 meter run for Laik Graham – 2:21.99 minutes

2nd in the 1600 meter run for Cain Evans – 5:11.81 minutes

2nd in the 4×800 meter relay for Clayton Savage, Carter Shipers, Laik Graham and Cain Evans –    9:39.42

3rd in the 110 meter hurdles for Braxten Johnson – 16.58 seconds

3rd in the 300 meter hurdles for Braxten Johnson – 43.89 seconds

3rd in discus for Isaiah Sprong – 38.46 meters

3rd in javelin for Isaiah Sprong – 38.32 meters

4th in the 100 meter dash for Jacob Adams – 11.76 seconds

4th in the 300 meter hurdles for Gauge Chenet – 48.29 seconds

4th in the 4×400 meter relay for Javon Kille, Laik Graham, Braxten Johnson and Quenton Cranmer – 3:56.37 minutes

4th in long jump for Javon Kille – 5.56 meters

4th in javelin for Cy Evans – 37.81 meters

5th in the 200 meter dash for Quentin Cranmer – 24.97 seconds

5th in long jump for Braxten Johnson – 5.48 meters

5th in triple jump for Javon Kille – 12.15 meters

6th in 400 meter dash for Quentin Cranmer – 56.34 seconds

6th in the 4×100 meter relay for Jacob Adams, Corbin Rodenberg, Jonathan Sanchez and Charles Walker – 48.14 seconds

7th in the 110 meter hurdles for Gauge Chenet – 19.64 seconds

7th in the 4×200 meter relay for Jacob Adams, Corbin Rodenberg, Jonathan Sanchez and Charles Walker – 1:46.61 minutes

8th in the 400 meter dash for Javon Kille – 57.81 seconds

8th in high jump for Tavion Gray -1.40 meters

8th in triple jump for Luke Nickell – 10.49 meters

8th in shot put for Cameron Williams – 11.39 meters

In team scoring, the Hornets ran away from the rest of the field. The girls team took first place with 125.33 points; Savannah was in second place with 78.33 team points. The boys team also took first place with 114 points; Hogan Prep was second with 89 points.

The boys squad takes first for the second time this season, the girls team did it for the first time on the final meet of the regular season.  Track and Field will compete in the district meet this Saturday.
