The Caldwell County Court updated the status of the proceedings with 28-year-old Zachary W Douglas of Utica on multiple charges of alleged sexual misconduct.
Wednesday, in one of two cases against Douglas, Judge Jason Kanoy found probable cause to believe the defendant committed the felonies. The modified complaint includes 10 charges and four were dropped. On this case, the judge ordered Douglas bound over for circuit court.
On the original set of charges, the case was taken under advisement and arraignment was scheduled for June 2nd. Thursday, the courts announced the attorneys addressed a legal question and Judge Kanoy made his ruling, finding probable cause to believe the defendant committed the felonies.
Douglas is now bound over to Circuit Court on both sets of charges. He will appear on June 14th at 9:00 am for formal arraignment.
