Chillicothe’s Slice Bread Day Events

As the July 4th Holiday comes to a close today the Chillicothe Community is gearing up for the celebration of Sliced Bread Day.  Amy Supple from the Greater Chillicothe Visitor’s Region reminds us Sliced Bread Day is Thursday, July 7th.

Supple says Sliced Bread Day will be celebrated July 9th, with a wide variety of activities.

Chillicothe Hall of Fame at the Livingston County Library– 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a presentation at 11.

Cornhole Competition– Join Main Street Chillicothe on Jackson Street at noon for registration and the competition to start at 1.

​Breakfast at LICOVA, 909 N. Washington Street

​Color Fest 5K Run– 6th annual Color Fest 5K Run/Walk hosted by the YMCA. Registration at 7 a.m. and the run at 8 a.m. The race will start and end with a celebration at the YMCA. Register at www.GrandRiverYMCA.org

​Farmer’s Market– Each and every Saturday from May to October, the Chillicothe Farmer’s Market offers local, fresh, homemade, and homegrown delights. Located in the Courthouse Square from 8 a.m. to noon.

​Downtown Festival– Beginning at 9 a.m. and going till 3 p.m., local food and craft vendors will have booths and sidewalk sales set up throughout the historic downtown district.

​The Greatest Parade Since Sliced Bread– 10 a.m. in our beautiful and historic downtown district. All are welcome and encouraged to enter. For free entry contact Main Street Chillicothe at 660-646-4071.

​Chillicothe Hall of Fame at the Livingston County Library– 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a presentation at 11. Celebrate Sliced Bread Day by learning about some of our community’s significant founding members.

​The Cultural Corner Art Guild will be hosting free art activities for kids following The Greatest Parade Since Sliced Bread until noon.

​Children’s Area and Activities at Silver Moon Plaza — 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

​Cornhole Competition– Join Main Street Chillicothe on Jackson Street at noon of registration and competition to start at 1 p.m.

​Bread crafts and snacks at the Lillian DesMarias Youth Library from 1-3 p.m.

​Bread Contest– Grand River Museum, 1401 Forest Drive, at 660-646-1341. Enter from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday, July 9th. The public can watch a vintage bread slicer in action and taste the bread entries beginning at 2 p.m.

​Arts Council Concert– Liverpool Legends Ultimate Beatles Tribute Band at 3 p.m. at the PAC

​Birthday Party– Sliced Bread Innovation Center from 4-8 p.m. Family fun all evening.

​A Slice of Home Concert– Join Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce at Blackwater Restaurant at 7 p.m. for an outdoor concert from a collection of Chillicothe “home grown” musicians to perform a “Slice of Home Concert.”
