Whether it’s for a few acres or a big farm, the Missouri Department of Conservation can provide expertise and connections to financial assistance for those seeking to improve wildlife habitat on their land.   A Free workshop about private land conservation services will be held October 22nd, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Platte County Community Center, in Parkville.
The MDC can help landowners connect with grants or cost-sharing programs that improve wildlife habitat. This includes native wildflowers planted in pollinator plots to benefit gamebirds, songbirds, butterflies, and other wildlife. Â Timber stand improvement to help woodlands attract more deer and wild turkeys. Even field edges can be managed to improve soil and water conservation as well as boosting wildlife.
