Animal Control Ordinance Revisions

Additional revisions to Chillicothe’s Animal Control ordinance were presented at the Chillicothe City Council meeting.  Some of the proposed changes include:

  • No Roosters – current roosters would be allowed to live out their days.
  • Limit the total number of hens to eight.
  • Setting a “license fee” for the brood of chickens
  • There would be NO limitation on the selling of eggs.

Some of the other concerns discussed included inspections and bird flu.

City Attorney Robert Cowherd will continue to refine the ordinance and bring another draft to the council at their next meeting.
