Weekend Chillicothe Police Report

The Chillicothe Police Department report from Friday – Sunday includes several calls for service.

Friday:

A traffic stop just after midnight in the 10 block of Third Street while investigating thefts.  As a result, officers found one of the four in the vehicle had a warrant.  An 18 year old man from Chillicothe was arrested on the Daviess County warrant for failing to appear on a DWI.  He was processed and transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center.

4:00 PM, Officers were notified of a 16 year old who had a warrant for his arrest through the Division of Youth Services.  Officers located the 16-year-old at South Street and Graves Street.  The teen resisted arrest; a citizen assisted Officers in the arrest.  The teen was arrested and drug paraphernalia was located on his person.  Chief Jon Maples says the arrest closed multiple theft cases, including a stolen firearm.

6:30 PM, Officers arrested a 53-year-old Chillicothe man who had a Grundy County warrant for stealing. The male was transported to the Grundy County line and released to a deputy.

 

Saturday:

02:27 AM Officers responded to the 1000 block of Graves Street the assist the Highway Patrol. A suspect fled from a traffic stop in the area and shortly crashed their vehicle. They were taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

09:09 AM Officers responded to a death scene in the 800 block of Walnut.  No criminal activity had been discovered. Investigation continues.

09:56 AM Officers located a wanted person while on scene, handling a separate call. A woman was taken into custody on the warrant for fraud.  She posted the bond and was released.

11:08 AM Officers responded to the 200 block of 15th Street to a domestic disturbance. As a result, a man was taken into custody for domestic assault and held at the Caldwell County Detention Center pending formal charges.

11:26 AM Officers took a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident in the 1200 block of Washington.

 

06:33 PM Officers responded to a fight in progress at Danner Park between two recreational baseball teams. The fight had been defused and all parties involved had either left the area or were currently leaving.

09:39 PM Officers responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of Jackson Street. An intoxicated woman was located and she had an injury to her nose. She was taken to the hospital.

11:36 PM Officers made a traffic stop near Calhoun and Washington, resulting in the arrest of two women for minor in possession of alcohol. Both were processed and released with citations. A third person in the vehicle was identified as a juvenile and was released to a parent.

 

Sunday:

07:05 AM Officers were called to the area of Jansen and Calhoun by the fire department to issue a citation for illegal burning to a suspect who had been warned multiple times.

10:44 AM Officers took a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident in the 1300 block of Washington. A suspect has been identified and the investigation continues.

04:44 PM Officers worked a two vehicle crash in the area of Grandview and 3rd Street.  The driver of the striking vehicle was issued citations for failing to maintain a single lane of traffic and for no insurance.
