Three Single Vehicle Accidents Leave Five Injured

Three accidents in the local area left five injured Monday afternoon and evening.

At 2:30 pm in Mooresville, there was a single vehicle accident that left two Marceline residents with minor injuries.  State troopers report 82 year old Roy Palmer was eastbound on US 36 and began sliding on the snow covered roadway.  He ran off the southside of the road and his vehicle overturned, coming to rest on the passenger side.  Palmer and his passenger, 76 year old Joanne Palmer of Marceline were taken to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

 

An accident on US 65 at Mohawk Drive in Chillicothe happened at about 3:50 pm and left a Chula resident with minor injuries.  State Troopers report 30 year old Latina Bru of Chula was southbound on US 65 and attempted to turn left on Mohawk, when she slid off the road and hit a utility pole.  She took herself to Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton for treatment.

 

At about 6:10 pm in Linn County, an accident on US 36 at the Laclede Junction left two Wheeling residents with minor injuries.  State Troopers report 50 year old Karla Knouse of Wheeling was eastbound on US 36, when she lost control on the snow and ice covered road and crossed the median and westbound lanes before hitting the ditch.  Knouse and her daughter, 22 year old Alexis Knouse, were both taken to Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe for treatment.
