Chillicothe Police Appreciate Assistance In Combating Drugs

Reports of suspicious activity help Chillicothe Police keep a handle on drugs in the community.  Police Chief Jon Maples says on February 12th, Officers were called to the 10 block of Tenth Street in reference to suspicious activity where a man was standing on a porch of a home where he did not belong.  With the assistance of concerned citizens the Officers located a man and a women in a vehicle that was parked in the area.  Further investigation revealed that the couple were not from Chillicothe and were found to be in possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  They were processed and taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

The couple was later charge through the Livingston County Court and are currently held in lieu of a $10,000.00 bond.

Chief Maples says the Chillicothe Police Department continues to fight crime and the drug issues within our city.  We will not stand for drugs in our city, and definitely will not stand for people bringing drugs into our community.  The men and women of the Chillicothe Police Department work hard every day to combat this very issue.
