Linneus Man Was Injured and Arrested Following An Accident

An accident near Meadville Thursday afternoon left one driver with Moderate injuries.  Forty-five-year-old Douglas Hale of Linneus was flown to University Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries following the accident at about 4:30 pm on US 36, a mile and a half east of Meadville.  According to the report, Hale was northbound on Crow Drive and pulled into the path of a semi driven by a 51-year-old North Carolina man.  Hale’s vehicle was struck on the driver’s side and then ran off the road.  He was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected as a result of the accident.  The driver of the semi was not injured.

Hale was also arrested by State Troopers for alleged DWI and Careless and imprudent driving.  He was released for treatment.
