StateTroopers report one accident and one arrest in the local counties Tuesday.
An accident in Linn County left an Independence man with moderate injuries Tuesday evening. State Troopers report 37-year-old Ronald Wheeler of Independence was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Preston Kleoppel of Independence. Kleoppel was southbound on Route M, east of Purdin, when he collided with a pilot car in a construction zone. The drivers were uninjured. Wheeler was not wearing a safety belt and was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital for treatment.
A St. Joseph man was arrested in Caldwell County Tuesday night. State Troopers arrested 24-year-old Ethan Hawks of St. Joseph on a St Joe Police warrant for alleged failure to appear on a charge of alleged no insurance. He was held at the Caldwell County Detention Center pending the posting of bond.
