Chillicothe School Board – Tax Rate Hearing, Grant and Bids

The Chillicothe R-II School Board will hold a Tax Rate Hearing prior to the August School Board meeting.  Superintendent Dan Wiebers says this is the public hearing that is required each year.

Wiebers says he will have the proposed tax rate posted for the public two weeks prior to the public hearing.

Tuesday’s meeting also included a couple of Board Policy Changes.  Superintendent Dan Wiebers says the changes were for employee leave.

The policy still requires some wording changes, but the board approved the new policy pending the completion of the changes.

The board approved a Farm Bureau grant of $1000.  The grant is to fund a 1st grade program that will teach children where their food comes from.  The grant requires no match from the district.

Four bids were approved by the board.  The bids are presented each year and include for Milk – awarded to Prairie Farms, Bread – awarded to HyVee, Fuel – awarded to MFA Oil and the Paper Bid was awarded to Midland Paper of Wheeling, Illinois.
