Accident And Arrests In Chillicothe Police Report

The Chillicothe Police Department had 71 calls for service Wednesday.

4:18 am, Officers found an unsecured door at the High School.  The building was checked and the door was secured.

12:02 pm, Officers investigated a report of a City of Chillicothe pick-up being struck in the rear by another vehicle which left the scene without leaving information.  The vehicle is reported to be a gold Buick 4-Door.  The accident happened Third and Hickory Streets shortly before noon.  Officers would like the driver to come to the police department to provide driver and vehicle information.

1:30 pm, Officers responded to 1000 block of Graves Street on a report of a female shoplifting.  Items were recovered and officers arrested a 28-year-old woman for stealing.  She was cited and released.

2:03 pm, Officers responded to a disturbance in the 700 block of Webster Street involving an impaired individual.  The person attempted driving from the area and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, processed, cited and released.

2:50 pm, Officers were in the 500 block of business 36 to serve an arrest warrant from Platte County.  A 46-year-old Chillicothe resident was arrested for Harassment.  They were held at the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail pending extradition by Platte County.

5:31 pm, Officers received information of someone that was planning to hurt themself and had taken an overdose of medication.  The person was located and voluntarily submitted to Hedrick Medical Center for medical assistance.

6:50 pm, Officers responded to a single-vehicle traffic accident at US 36 and 65.  The report states a vehicle was eastbound on the ramp to US 65, traveled across US 65 and went down the embankment on the south side of 36 and into the drainage ditch.  The vehicle had major damage.  The driver, Terri Gardner of Breckenridge, refused medical treatment.

11:44 pm, Officers out in the 900 block of Vine Street on an investigation of possible child abuse.  The investigation continues.
