Sheriff’s Report For Early December

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department reports several incidents, investigations, and arrests in the first half of December.

December 5th, deputies stopped a vehicle on US 65.  The driver had a suspended license and was carrying brass knuckles.  Chillicothe K-9 Enoc was called to the scene and alerted to the odor of drugs.  The search of the vehicle led to the seizure of about 190 grams of high-quality marijuana, drug distribution equipment, and evidence for distribution. The deputy arrested 22-year-old Joseph Alan Vargas of Chillicothe for the alleged drug crimes.

December 10th, deputies obtained a search warrant for 2 locked safes that were seized during a search in the 800 block of Calhoun in Chillicothe.  The safes were opened and additional methamphetamine and other drug equipment was discovered.

December 11th deputies took a report of a concrete deer lawn ornament stolen from the 500 block of Leavell Street in Chula.

Early on December 13th deputies responded to a disturbance involving a firearm in Utica.  Several people had been arguing and a man allegedly discharged a handgun into the air to get people to leave.  Deputies arrested a man.  Formal charges were initially declined and the man was released.

Arrests:

December 3rd, 23-year-old Jacob Michael McGary of Chillicothe for alleged Failure to Obey a Judge’s Order on an original class A misdemeanor DWI-Prior Offender.

December 8th, deputies arrested 30-year-old Michael Kamren Lent of Chillicothe on a warrant for alleged Driving While Revoked/Suspended and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

December 8th, deputies arrested 26-year-old Felicia Pauline Martin of Springfield on a warrant for alleged Possession of Controlled Substance.

December 8th, deputies arrested 34-year-old Colton Duncan of Chillicothe on a warrant for alleged Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving While Revoked/Suspended.

December 9th deputies took 40-year-old Justin Thomas Lycan into custody on a Court Order to serve a 30 days sentence on a charge of property damage.
