Trailer Fire On Washington Street, In Front Of City Hall

A report of a semi-trailer that had blown-up summoned Chillicothe Fire Fighters to Washington Street and Calhoun, in front of City Hall.  The call came in about 12:40 pm and the fire crew arrived with an ambulance and rescue truck in a couple of minutes.  They also called for a pumper.  They found flames coming from the semi trailer’s rear axles due to a brake fire.  The crews were using hand lines to put out the fire on both sides of the trailer.   They also checked the inside of the trailer but found no damage to the contents.

About 400 gallons of water was used to put out the fire and the fire department was on the scene for about 20 minutes.  The roadway was cleared and reopened about an hour after the original call to the police department.

The truck is owned by a company out of New York.
