Chillicothe Fire Fighters responded to a fire in a carport in the 1300 block of Maple Saturday afternoon. The call came in about 1:35 pm and the fire crew arrived in 6 minutes to find a vehicle on fire in the carport. The owner stated they attempted to start the car and it caught fire quickly. The fire spread from the carport to the home.
The report states 10,000 gallons of water was used to put out the fire the damaged the home and destroyed the vehicle and carport.
The fire crew was on the scene for nearly two and a half hours.
