Man Refuses Drug Screening, Flees Courthouse And Is Later Arrested

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man who fled from the Livingston County Courthouse Wednesday morning.  Twenty-nine-year-old Nicholas Allen Duckworth of Chillicothe was ordered by his bond supervisor to provide a sample for a drug screening.  Sheriff Steve Cox says Duckworth fled the courthouse.

Warrants were obtained for Duckworth for alleged Failure to Appear in Court.   Deputies responded to the area of 100 block of Mitchell in Chillicothe to serve these warrants.   One deputy made eye contact with Duckworth who instantly fled on foot.  The deputies were able to pin him into a block area and one or more citizens were helpful in pointing out Duckworth’s direction of travel on foot but we were unable to see the suspect enter any home.

Chillicothe Police Officers responded to assist and multiple homes were searched for the suspect.  Duckworth was found hiding in a home and taken into custody without further incident.

Duckworth was taken to the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail and may face additional charges.
