A Kansas City woman was injured in an accident that happened when another driver fell asleep. State Troopers report 53-year-old Renee Lawson of Kansas City was taken to North Kansas City Hospital following the accident on I-435, Saturday at about 10:50 pm. According to the report, Lawson was a passenger in a vehicle that was northbound, driven by 52-year-old Manny Lawson of Kansas City. That vehicle was struck by another northbound vehicle driven by 21-year-old Chloe Johnson of Hamilton. The report states Johnson had fallen asleep and drifted into the Lawson vehicle, then overturned.
Johnson was not wearing a seatbelt. Neither driver was injured.
